JOHNNIE has been a member of FPC for almost two years. She is the widow of Joseph "Jody" Blackburn and has two adult children. Her daughter Lindsay is married to Clint Mountain, and they are the parents of daughter, Julia. Her son Brett and his wife Morgan have four children, Joseph, Timothy, Jessie and Mercy. Johnnie is recently retired from The University of Alabama where she was a Marketing Manager in the College of Continuing Studies. She is a member of the McCain Sunday School Class, Circle 1 and serves on the Fellowship Committee of FPC.

MARILYN has been a member of First Presbyterian Church since 2014 and previously has served as a member and chair of the Welcoming Committee of the church. She is presently a member of the McCain Sunday School class. Marilyn volunteers at the Eastern Tuscaloosa Soup Bowl when needed and loves helping in that capacity. She is retired from the Office of Counsel at UA.

HARRY grew up in Uniontown. He is a lifelong Presbyterian as was his late wife, Marsha Loard. They raised four sons, Garrett (Patricia Parnell), Thomas (Fran Reilly), Harrison and David in Selma. They have five grandchildren, Henry, Hilton, Michael, Mary Stuart and Webb. Harry worked in education and finance in Uniontown and Selma. He is retired and lives in Tuscaloosa. He enjoys his children and grandchildren, friends, college sports, and a frequent good book.

SCOTT became a member of FPC in 2021. Scott and his wife, Jessica, have twins, David and Brooke. He currently works at The University of Alabama as Instructor of Music, Voice Coach for the UA Opera Theatre and has also been the Music Director and Conductor for various productions. Outside of his work with UA, Scott also enjoys his collaboration with fellow church member, Dee Hamner, as accompanist for Eastwood Middle School’s Fall and Spring choir concerts. Scott and Jessica are proud members of the Sanctuary Choir at FPC. He also enjoys filling in on piano for occasional services, including services for First Presbyterian Deutsche.

MARGARET has been a member of FPC since 2009. She is married to Brent Hardin; their son, Joseph, is a sophomore at Holy Spirit Catholic School. Margaret is a member of the Journey Sunday school class and previously served as a Deacon.

REBECCA and her family recently joined the church in 2023. Before joining FPC, they were members of Faith Presbyterian in Tallahassee, FL, and Westminster Presbyterian in Nashville, TN. Rebecca is a Tuscaloosa native and recently moved back to begin her career as an Assistant Professor in the department of Communicative Disorders at UA. Rebecca is married to Zack Summy, and they have two children: Lewis (5) and Bonnie (1).

LILA was baptized as an infant at FPC in 2007 and was confirmed in 2022. She participated in LOGOS, VBS as both a student and volunteer and Youth group. Lila also served as an acolyte. She is a member of the Youth Leadership Team. She attends Northridge High School and is also a member of Tuscaloosa Civinettes. She is the daughter of Todd and Renee Agee and sister of Mary Glenn Agee.

MARY started attending First Presbyterian Church as a young child. She is married to Barry, and they have 3 adult children: Mary Elizabeth, Blake and Brooks, who is married to McKenzie and has a newborn son, Colt. Mary grew up in Tuscaloosa and earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Alabama School of Law. She has previously served as Deacon and has served on Strengthening of the Church, New Member and Preschool Committees. Mary has previously been a teacher for Children’s Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and Children’s Choir. She helped with the implementation of our Logos program. Mary is a member of PW Circle One and was a Confirmation Partner.

JULIA joined FPC in 1974. She is married to Jim Chancy, and they have one adult son, Jim III (Cortney Woodruff), and two grandsons, Lockard and Price. Julia is a retired teacher from the Tuscaloosa County Schools and the Shelton State Adult Ed. Program. She has worked with the Family Connections Committee, the Strengthening of the Church Committee, and has also served as a deacon. Julia now works with the Flower Committee and the Tuscaloosa County Sub Missions Committee. She is a member of PW Circle 1.

JONATHON has been a member of FPC for 10 years. He is married to Krysta. Krysta serves as a Deacon at FPC. They have two children, Jamesdon and Kathryn. Both children attended First Presbyterian Preschool and are active in Logos. Jonathan is a Lender and First Vice President at BankFirst Financial Services in Tuscaloosa. He grew up in Haleyville, Alabama and earned his degree from the University of Alabama. He previously served as a Deacon at FPC. 

TONY has been long time member of First Presbyterian Church. He is married to Lora, and they have three adult children. He has previously served on the Diaconate and 2 terms as Elder at First Presbyterian Church. Tony is the President of the Presbyterian Apartments of Northport Board of Directors and has served on mission teams to Haiti and Kenya. He is also a member of the McCain Sunday School class.

ELAINE KIZZIRE has been a member of FPC for 18 years. She is married to Maxie, and they have a blended family of 4 children, Cameron (Drew), Patton (Kari), Pete (Brooke), Emily and 3 grandchildren. Elaine graduated from UA with a degree in marketing and has been a Realtor® with Hamner Real Estate for 35 years. She has served FPC previously as a Deacon and Elder and has thoroughly enjoyed volunteering with the Logos program for a number of years.

JACQUELINE and her husband Robert have been members of First Presbyterian Church since 1997. Jacqueline has served as a Deacon, Elder, Stephen Minister, and Coordinator of the Marriage Enrichment Supper Clubs. She also has served on the following committees: Strengthening of the Church, Endowment, Mission (Chair), and College Ministry (Chair). She enjoys being a member of the Balancing Faith Sunday School Class and Circle One, and her favorite new role within the church is as a Logos Bus Driver. Retired since August 2022, she remains extremely grateful for all the wonderful experiences she had while working at the University of Alabama, particularly as Founding Director of the University Fellows Experience, Founding Director of the McNair Scholars Program, and Associate Dean of the Honors College for ten years.

KRISTI has been a member of FPC for 24 years. She is the widow of Dr. Bailey Thomson. She has an adult daughter, Sarah Thomson (married to Berkay Tok). Kristi is a retired administrator, having taught in education for 45 years. Since retirement, she enjoys tutoring with Reading Allies and volunteering at Englewood Elementary School. She teaches bible study in Circle 7, and is a member of Pacesetters Sunday School Class, Adult Choir, the Security and Disaster Advisory Board, and the organ recital committee. She is the chair of Alabama Citizens for Constitutional Reform, a state organization that was founded in 2000 by her late husband.

FOREST has been a member of First Presbyterian Church for 25 years. He is married to Jennifer, and they have three daughters: Mary Margaret, Kate and Sarah Jayne. He has previously served First Presbyterian as a Deacon and an Elder. Forest has also served on the Youth, SOC, Finance, and Endowment committees. He is a member of the Journey Sunday School class.

DANYLE is a fourth-generation member of First Presbyterian Church and has attended since birth. She was baptized at FPC. She attended First Presbyterian Preschool, Sunday School, LOGOS, VBS and served as acolyte. In middle school she continued to attend Sunday School, became involved in Youth Group and was Confirmed. In the summers she helped with VBS and attended Middle School Montreat. During her High School years she has continued to be involved with Sunday School, Youth Group, VBS and attending High School Montreat. She serves on the Youth Leadership Team. Danyle is a Junior at Northridge High School and involved in several clubs at school.
