DATES TO NOTE:

Ash Wednesday

On Wednesday, February 17th, you can stop by First Presbyterian Church for drive-up ashes and take a communion set to go for each of your family members. Drive-up for ashes from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.  or 4:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. in the Greensboro Avenue circular drive. You can also drop by any time during the day and simply call the church office at (205) 752-3531 for a minister to come out to impose ashes. Palm Sunday

On Sunday, March 28th, we will have two Worship Services - one at 8:45AM and one at 11AM - both in the Sanctuary. We anticipate many families with young children will come to the 11AM Worship service. If you prefer a smaller crowd, please join us at 8:45AM. If you aren't able to join us in person, join us for our broadcast service online or on television.


Easter Egg Hunt

NOTICE - UPDATE!!! Hop on over to the FPC Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 3rd at 12PM at Buddy Powell Pavilion (4205 Northridge Rd). Bring your picnic blanket or chairs to spread out and fellowship! Box lunches will be provided. This was postponed from Sunday, April 28th due to inclement weather concerns.

 

Maundy Thursday

On Thursday, April 1st, make plans to join us in the Sanctuary for Worship at 6:30 p.m. or join us for our broadcast service online. Click here to follow along or print a copy of the bulletin. Enjoy this music specially recorded for Maundy Thursday - singers perform "Jesus the Very Thought."


Good Friday

Good Friday is Friday, April 2nd. We invite you to Pray the Stations of the Cross. Pick up a guide at the entrance to the Rose Garden. If you need a digital copy, contact the church office (205-752-3531).

  • What is it? A Christian practice of prayer accompanying Jesus along fourteen stations as he carries his cross through Jerusalem.  
  • Where? In the FPC Rose Garden
  • When? Anytime on Good Friday (and any other day throughout Holy Week)
  • Supplies? Prayer Guide will be provided
  • Socially distanced? Yes
  • How to do this? Stop at each station to read and pray - set your own pace. You can do this alone or with another.

On Sunday, April 4th, make plans to join us for in-person worship or join us for our broadcast service online or on television. We will have a Sunrise Service in the Rose Garden at 6AM (bring your own chair for the Sunrise Service) and two Worship Services on the front lawn - at 9:45AM and 11:15AM.
