Big Brothers and Big Sisters of West Alabama
Big Brothers/Big Sisters serves at-risk children throughout the West Alabama community and in several of the local schools. Each child is matched with a mentor who supports and encourages them to believe in themselves. The majority of these children come from single-parent, socially-disadvantaged, and economically-deprived families.
Volunteers (age 19 and up) are needed as mentors who are able to commit one hour a week to provide companionship, friendship, and guidance through a one-on-one relationship with a child or teenager.
