Elementary Faith Milestones
Faith Milestones in the Elementary Grades
- Kindergarten—Begin elementary Sunday School, transition into remaining for entire worship service, continue with Cherub choir, continue in Vacation Bible School
- First grade—Begin LOGOS program, receive LOGOS Bible story book, remain for entire worship service, participate in Lord’s Supper Preparation Class, participate in Maundy Thursday service, begin Lyric choir, continue Sunday School and VBS
- Second grade—Continue LOGOS program, lead Lyric choir, continue Sunday School and VBS, eligible to attend Presbytery elementary camping program
- Third grade—Continue LOGOS program, begin Chapel Choir, continue Sunday School and VBS, participate in special Christmas music, children’s choir tour and spring musical, receive NRSV children’s Bible, participate in “Learning about my Bible” class, eligible to attend Montreat Worship and Music Conference at end of third grade, attend Presbytery elementary camping program
- Fourth grade—Continue LOGOS program, participate in “older kid” activities for LOGOS, continue Sunday School and VBS, participate in special Christmas music, children’s choir tour and spring musical, eligible to attend Montreat Worship and Music Conference, attend Presbytery elementary camping program
- Fifth grade—Continue LOGOS program with Assoc. Pastor for Youth as Bible teacher, Serve as an acolyte, special LOGOS graduation dinner, Serve as Youth volunteer for VBS, participate in special Christmas music, children’s choir tour and spring musical, graduate to Middle School Sunday School at end of May, eligible to attend Montreat Worship and Music Conference, eligible to attend Montreat Middle School Conference at Presbyterian College.
